ABOUT

Niels Devlieghere (°1992, BE) is an independent director and photographer. He started his academic career in architecture, but later on after graduating he transitioned to film. In 2017 he enrolled at the Royal Institute for Theatre, Cinema and Sounds (RITCS) in Brussels where he got his degree as a documentary director.

 

His graduation film ‘Elong E’nabe’ won the Wildcard for documentary from the Flemish Film Fund (VAF) in 2020 and got selected at several film festivals. Since then he made several documentary series for Belgian television while simultaneously working on his own projects. His work includes a series of intimate portraits in which he immerses himself in the lived world of his subjects.
